Big Evidence Research Project
This project has for goal to provide integration of ICD-11 coding of disease with the WHO ICD-11 Chapter 26 (TM) Traditional Medicine Coding of Chinese medical pattern differentiation. This integration provides a model for the two systems of medicine working together.
The project involves collecting and comparing data of ‘back pain’ combining ICD-11 codes and the codes from Traditional Medicine’s clinical SOAP notes. Implementing a two coding system
The ICD-11 Western Medicine Diagnosis
TM Diagnosis, and TM Pattern Differentiation.
This is a feasibility study aiming to provide the foundation of integrating the two systems of diagnosis.
The project is part of the ‘One Voice’ research initiative that will be led by key stakeholders from three continents: Europe, USA, and Australia. It represents a collective of more than 50,000 professional practitioners from over 25 countries.
The approaching era of the ICD-11 Traditional Medicine (TM) Codes is set to become a major landmark for traditional Acupuncture and herbal medicine as a valid person-centered health system, and it will transform modern health care systems worldwide. This will advance the profession of traditional Acupuncture and herbal medicine progressively with widespread recognition by the patients, hospitals, insurance companies, and policy makers.
The result will be an increased awareness and availability of treatment backed up by evidence in the safety & efficacy of traditional Acupuncture and herbal medicine. It offers the pathway for all citizens of the world to achieve better health and wellness.
IDC11 APP
The ICD11 app is specifically designed to facilitate the integration of ICD-11 coding of diseases with the WHO ICD-11 Chapter 26 Traditional Medicine Coding of Chinese medical pattern differentiation. This integration aims to create a model for the collaboration of two systems of medicine, Western Medicine Diagnosis (ICD-11) and Traditional Medicine Diagnosis (TM Diagnosis and TM Pattern Differentiation).
The app focuses on collecting and comparing data related to 'back pain' by combining ICD-11 codes with codes derived from Traditional Medicine's clinical SOAP notes. It implements a two-coding system that allows practitioners to utilize both Western and Traditional Medicine diagnoses.
